Short summary
Here we examine the tipping dynamics of instability-prone marine ice sheets in interaction with the underlying solid Earth in a simplified model setup. The idealized ensemble simulations allow a systematic investigation of (1) bifurcation-induced and (2) rate-induced ice-sheet tipping for a wide range of representative Antarctic solid-Earth structures. We examine the conditions that lead to shifts in the tipping thresholds, the occurrence of rate-induced tipping or grounding-line overshoots.
